Portland, Oregon is a wonderful city, with vibrant neighborhoods, public transit, bicycle-friendly infrastructure, a mild climate, and beautiful parks. Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Pacific Ocean are all nearby. Living near Portland in the Columbia River Gorge provides an amazing lifestyle. At Cape Horn the National Forest comes right down to the Columbia River's edge. This is where we live and is the area covered by this blog.

Cabin on the Washougal River
Nestled among stately fir trees is a 1940's-era getaway on 1.24 acres along the Washougal River. This quiet retreat sits directly above the river far back from the road. It is about 45 minutes from Portland International Airport and less than an hour from downtown Portland and Vancouver. Kayaking, hiking, skiing, fishing and windsurfing all are close. Check out the neighborhood by booking a stay at this airbnb rental nearby.
